hi. today i came across with CyanogenMod. i didn't understand what it is and how it is used. Can anybody tell me what it is and what is its job and how we can use it in N900 ? it seems quite useful.

EDIT: never tried it on N900 and not even sure how to use.. but there will be use of it guess coz cyanogen ROMs are comparatively faster than most stock ROMs...

CyanogenMod is another custom ROM of Android for android devices.
For the N900 we have Nitdroid which is more optimized for our hardware as it is a device that was never meant to run Android although there are still a few kinks still being worked on.

You could say in a nutshell that cyanogen mod is kind of like enabling power kernel with a whole bunch of extra `power user' features equivalent in maemo. Basically it allows tinkerers to experiment with advanced features that the manufacturer initially disabled.
