...
- full-size SD reader

btw: In the video [1] it seems there might just be enough space left for an SD card between the sim card and the µSD/camera underneath the battery, right where the sticker with the QR code is in the N900 battery bay.
I've never disassembled my N900 but it looks like there's some component underneath that sticker. But then I guess the Neo900 board might differ in that point.

Maybe with a big enough computer hammer, one of these could be squeezed in.

ok, now everybody contributed some cool ideas. But I think that's actually a bit off topic since WE (GolDeliCo) for sure will NOT build all that stuff. We facilitate for you to do so.
So let's go back to main topic: rhe Neo900.
Thanks

Hi blue_led!
Long time no see, good that you're back
A pity we can't achive that in such short time, and some requirements (IP65) probably are basically impossible to achive. Nevertheless by all means please contact us with details about your requirements, for 100+ devices we for sure would change specs of this product wherever needed and possible.

cheers

Unfortunately, N900's camera module capture too wide frame for mounting additional lenses - I've tested it for replacement body/backcover project. Even if you put lens right on top of the module (for testing purposes, without carrying about blurness, wrong focal point, etc), all you got is "little circle" with image in center of big black frame

To achieve worthy results, you would need to:
a) rebuild camera module
b) use BIG lens, like, with diameter of 8 centimeters or even more (as for real usage, you *can't* place it right on camera module, touching it - and with every milimeter of increased distance from camera module, your loss of frame coverage increase expotentialy).

Both options are not feasible "b)" is doable, but not really practical. Using any normal, portable lens, is sane if you're building sniper rifle automation for some "radical political involvement" and need only small close-up of target area - I've presented some PoF images took with N900, using 10x zoom lens in replac. body thread, some months ago - but not for normal picture taking.

so phone/modem will be a telit module ? this probably will be 2-3 mm height .. too bulky but will have electromagnetic shield.
with chips you need custom shield to fit pcb layout -> extra cost.
