Also, is there an easy way to upgrade to the upcoming OS MeeGo? Hopefully there is, cause what I'm hearing is that Maemo 5 is not really being supported by Nokia. such an epic fail, cause N900 is a great phone.

I'd say that the N900 is a great phone THANKS to MAEMO5. Hardware wise there are many that match and beat the N900 but thanks to the open Maemo 5 it is the amazing device that it is!

Current status of Nitdroid, android running on Nit, your N900.

Latest version just came out yesterday, 0.0.8, which allows
1) most adroid market dl
2) wifi
3) call and receive incoming call, but no sound yet
4) Only BT GPS, built-in GPS is in progress
5) camera, not working on mine.
6) Nitdroid does NOT live in maemo, one needs to boot to choose between maemo or Nitdroid.

To answer your question, Nitdroid does NOT replace maemo..........yet . For me, to get into android is mainly the vast amount of apps. When I said vast, one has to look at the magnitude and diversity of apps, search on android market, Nitdroid is only a portion of android market, not the whole market, search for maps, came back 879 maps. And this is only a portion of android market, and android market is just one of the many markets thru out the world, in particular china, india and russia.

Interested? Well, all you need is a small microSD, preferably 2G or 1G, class really does not matter that much, contrarly to what I read.
