We have been checking now and there is enough to come to the summit.
With your most gracious assistance in my hour of need I will be coming and I will try to personally thank each and every one of you for your support

Whether I can continue after that is still blowing in the wind.

I would love to remain active here and hope together we can find a way.
I am not the best at all this business stuff, I just like to make things run smoothly.

Sincerely,

Gary, Tracy, Luke and Jacob.
Woohoo! The Summit wouldn't have been the same without you.

Tim

Oh well, I was hoping to take lcuk's place at the co-creation session, but now that he's coming I guess I'll still be visiting the museums...

Gary make sure you sit close to someone like Tim so he can translate your dialect into English.

(I'm so glad you're coming)

For that you need a Northerner that has been ridden of his accent, I step up to the plate

I'm in limbo land, I go up north, they say I'm now a "Southern Softy", I go anywhere down here I'm a "Northern Wan**r". Can't win but then I'm used to that being married for 8 years now

I've refrained from commenting as we've already talked about it but ..

I'll start with a little tale.

One of the things that I admired about an open source friend I have was that when he was made redundant, he too asked for donations with one caveat, he promised to pay each and every, dollar in this case, back when he could. Took him a little while but every donation he received to tide him along until he found a job was paid back. Mucho-admiration for that. I even donated and if you ask my friends how tight I am you would be as shocked as they were (I donated the money afterwards to a children's charity rather than accept it back).

Anyway, take this as an opportunity to find the job of your dreams. Keep it professional, search hard and I'm sure you find something that suits both you and your skills.

Good luck!

As another Northerner, I don't think you've lost your accent really :-)

Apart from ascribing it to "Laughing Man", I would. I've put stuff about my "extra-curricular" work on Maemo on my work evaluations and have got recognition at work for being externally respected.

I've been off of this forum for a few days but was really moved to read this thread. Everything from the initial post, to the outpouring of advice and support, to a bit of a happy ending.

Gary, I too was amazed at what you were able to do at the onedotzero event and have a truly deep admiration for the passion and commitment you've shown to a community, a platform, and a principle.

Best of luck to you on the job search and looking forward to seeing ya at the summit.
