Well when you charge them the charge current goes down at the end as voltage potential gets smaller, best way if you don't have anything else is to make a discharge test, make a constant current discharge of 1A, when voltage gets lower then 3.2V (to be safe) note the time, if you hit 1A spot on then you have 3000mAh if it takes 3 hours for the voltage to go from 4.2V to 3-3.2V.

But don't expect miracles, there is limit of how much capacity you can put inside cubic cm in Li-Ion I'm perfectly sure that you have ~same capacity with this strange design, as we got with dual-scud/polarcell setup inside mugen cover.

when type bq27200.sh -> line 205: ./i2cget: Permission denied

A quick reply, without re-reading the relevant posting: are you running this as root?

And you have the i2cget binary set as executable?

If not, "chmod +x i2cget" (if executed in same folder or set correct path to file)

Also, ensure that you don't have bq27x00_battery module loaded. You may unload it, by executing (as root):
Code:
modprobe -r bq27x00_battery

Hi Guys, The battery meter widget is showing long values since installing KP52 - was OK before. That offending battery module is not loaded as far as I can see. Any ideas?

Thanks
Giles.

@gilesn,
Not sure what you mean by "long values" but... could it be related to this?

In any case, this has nothing to do with home made batteries.

It's to do with dr_frost_dk's Battery Meter widget, see first post..

Long as in wrong! E.g. the % value is showing 3455090.6%.

FWIW, after last reboot the battery status in my status area said "no data or battery not calibrated". The same issue as reported in the post that I linked. Might your problem be a different face of the same thing? There it was blamed on KP52, here you blame it on the widget. But it looks like it's the status-area-applet-battery_1.0-5_armel.deb update that caused it.

In any case, mine fixed itself after a full discharge and recharge.
