That's quite good news for Maemo's progress, since this means the next Symbian flagship model (with superior hardware) is at least 6 months away (and so is the next Maemo device).

This means Nokia's "enthusiast flagship model" for the first half of the year 2010 will still be the N900, as Symbian^1 has some heavy hardware limitations, and Symbian^3 is far away (as is Maemo 6).

Of course, the lack of a worldwide release (and a stable one) have decreased the N900's potential sales by a lot, but this means the device might actually sell some millions if marketed correctly (with software updates) and if supply will be there.

I mean, if the buggy N97 could be mass-marketed and sell to the main-stream, then why can't the less-buggy N900 get the same treatment and do the same? At least there won't be competiton from Nokia, but this means other non-Symbian platforms will rise as well.
