Updated version, look here: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...89&postcount=7

I wrote a simple (but fast!) podcast management and download tool, maybe someone could to try it out on their n800?

At this moment the program lets you:

- Add and remove podcast locations
- Sync new items from the podcast locations (max 2 new items to save space)
- Shows a list of downloaded podcast episodes after each sync
- Creates playlists for downloaded podcasts

Podcasts are always downloaded to /media/mmc2/podcasts-[date], and are accessible from the media player by the corresponding playlist. (This will be configurable in a next version.)

Please note:
- This program is for testing, its not complete yet! (although it works fine on my n800)
- It won't connect to the Internet automatically
- You need to have the wget package installed from http://mg.pov.lt/770/wget.install

The program uses bashpodder (http://www.lincgeek.org/bashpodder) as its backend. (included in the package)

You can download the .deb installation file from: here.

Let me know what you think, and if it works for you :-)

edit: updated to 0.0.2, added wget dependency in op

I think it should, but I am unable to test it. (Only have an n800) Could you try it and post the results here?

I will give this a go tonight, as I've just started podcasting about the N800. This could be a very very handy tool!

Updated version 0.0.5 is now available!

New features:

- Shows the progress while downloading podcasts
- Creates 2 playlists after each sync:
- "New podcasts" contains newly downloaded items
- "All podcasts" contains all downloaded podcasts
- Settings dialog
- Download location is now configurable
- Number of podcast downloads is now also configurable

You can use the media player and the automatically created playlists to listen to podcasts and delete podcasts you've listen to.

Please note:
- You still need to have the wget package installed from http://mg.pov.lt/770/wget.install (although curl is now used for downloading)
- Still doesn't connect to the internet automatically
- This is still beta software!

The program uses bashpodder (http://www.lincgeek.org/bashpodder) as its backend. (included in the package)

You can download the new .deb installation file from: here.

Let me know if it works for you :-) (Or request new features!)

Also, could someone please tell me if this works on the n770?

It would be awesome to support importing OPML files of my podcasts so I don't have to manually copy and paste 15 to 20 feeds. Just a suggestion. Keep up the great work!

Works on my N800

A few things

1) the idea of new and all playlists is excellent.
2) i was used to iTunes' logic

2.1 build the list of available podcasts
2.2 provide the description
2.3 autodownload the first from each source
2.4 enqueue those that I would also like

3 downloads may not always work. Or maybe failed because I had already manually downloaded
