Mine installed OK now but would not start.

What it says when you start it from console via '/usr/games/opendune.sh' ?
You can also try 'apt-get update', 'apt-get remove opendune', 'apt-get install opendune' and see if anything changes.

It works! The trick was too delete ...opendune/data.cfg, owned by root. I don't know if it was me or the previous script that put it there.

Everything takes time... and spice.
