Basically I wanted to check if aliendalvik is successfully started.
what does
Code:
systemctl status aliendalvik -l
say?

Or more importantly
Code:
systemctl start aliendalvik -l

Just bought a Android 7" lenovo tablet. And no I am really sure I will NOT buy fairphone until they have official support for sailfishos. Android already giving me headache.

Using the FP2 as a daily driver for about 1 week now.
All i can say is: WOW!
When you compare it with Jolla 1 it is like you replace a bike with a car :-)

I connected all the Jolla C Repos, Maps, Store, Exchange, XT9 works very well and stable. Alien Dalvik is installed but didn't work (not yet). Need additional tweaking.

FP2 is such a sexy piece of Hardware, it will be definitive the next Sailfish Flagship.
I'm sure Fairphone will releace official Sailfish with Aliendalvik, they wait until the Build became ready and support anything (Dual-SIM, OTA-Updates etc.)
They would get a lot of new customers, when they release it with official Sailfish OS.

We see how much people are ready to pay hunderts of $ / EUR to get an Device with official Sailfish. Doesn't matter, if it is a Jolla Tablet, Jolla C or Intex Aqua Fish.
The Jolla 1 in good condition going through eBay for 100-130 EUR!

For me - there is definitiv no way back to Jolla 1 after Fairphone 2. Missing Android support is something importand, but i can live without it atm. (Have a Jolla Tablet, also)

Yeah, I confirm everything above. Just flashed FP2 OTA to 2.0.2.48 thanks to mal-, and all is mostly good for daily work. But have to admit I also carry the Jolla 1 around for Android functionality, and also a separate dedicated hotspot data plan.

Hop on #fairphone-sailfish.

You will need to enable a couple of mal-'s personal repos, which you can find from either irclogs of the channel or by asking him.

In general the process follows this model https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Ada...ates_.28OTA.29 but the repo list with `ssu lr` needs to be correct before you run `version --dup`

alpha2 has a couple of small bugs, so mal- didn't released it (yet) officially.
But of course you can ask him on irc and he will tell you what to do - if you REALLY-REALLY want to test alpha2 Image. You also need to reflash, bacause alpha2 need android gms54 1.36 or newer. afterwards you can flash alpha2 (2.0.1.11) and afterwards, when you are on alpha2, you can ask mal- for the right repositories to update to 2.0.2.48.

mal- is the main FP2-Sailfish developer, so you need to ask him, if you want to test something newer than alpha1 or wait until mal- will release it officialy on the Wiki-Page.
