I never use Bluetooth, so the status area icon telling me that "Bluetooth is off" is a waste of space (and hides visibility of icons I *do* care about). Can I remove it?

Thanks!

You can move/rename its desktop file, /usr/share/applications/hildon-status-menu/connui-bluetooth.desktop, but note that you wont get the Bluetooth icon in the status area if Bluetooth is on (and I've had it come on automatically a few times while starting up the N900 - despite having turned it off before turning the N900 off).

Code:
apt-get --reinstall install connui-statusbar-bluetooth
should do it.

simplest way is to install powatool from extras and then open the application and tap statusbar and then untick Conui Bluetooth
and thats it
