But it isn't described or marketed as a phone, sjgadsby. The distribution makes it very clear.

EDIT: however, you have a very good point, one I need to communicate internally...

I think one of the biggest marketing problems that Nokia has faced since Day 1 with the 770 is distinguishing the Internet Tablets as NOT phones. I've pointed out before that every single negative review chides the things for not having a cellular radio of some sort.

Engadget agrees:

Okay, I did my part: just wrote a new internal blog article (referencing this thread, of course) on the subject of tablets/phones and I'll make sure that if nothing else Ari Jaaksi is pointed to it.

Thanks, Ricky and Steve.

I think it is N830 not N810. I downloaded the original picture and zoomed on it and compared the 1 in N81 to the questionable 3 and it sure looks like a 3.
....... they may have just wrongly named it as N830 which i think is not possible with the absolute ignorance of their classification.

And to confirm it .... they pulled the image down!!!

I think this is enough confirmation.

I reallly hope they doubled the ram on that one!!!

Sachin, if you look around at other text on the image you'll see some really serious pixellation. Some known product IDs aren't even close to looking as they should.

I have good reason to believe it's not a 3, but that's all I can say. If it is, I'll be very surprised.

Anyway, pulling the original image down is not enough to confirm that the product says N830. Just that someone doesn't want the image public yet.

Yeah i actually thought so. It is tooooooo similar to the n810 to be the next model.

But i wanted to be absolutely sure... and this is one way of getting texrat to talk!!!

with the recent OS update that has no changelog i have come across, the details of a new device seem more reliable.

keeping everything hush-hush makes me more suspicious.
