I'm wanting to restore my version of the pre-installed NFS Shift HD game.

I've tried apt-get nfsshift anf get

"Couldn't find package nfsshift"

and downloading it from the store but get:

"Can't Install. Installation package not found." then,

"Unable to trace installation package dependancies."

Do I need a special repository?

AFAIK you cant uninstall pre-installed apps. can you check your MyDocs folder and see whether its hidden instead in .desktop

Yep, I have tried that, but did it again to be sure and got:

"Unable to trace installation dependencies."

I also ran the nfsshift-restore deb from terminal and it couldn't continue as there was an unmet dependency - namely nfsshift.

Seems I was able to as I don't have an install deb for Golf or NFS.

Why not? Under settings > applications > manage applications, a long press on an application brings up an uninstall option. Are you saying that they do not work?
