And yes I believe I installed rootsh via app manager. Does that make any difference?

I get the "password:Segmentation fault" while running it via terminal without root i tried a couple of times. And once i get that error message, I cant type anything in terminal anymore, i have to close terminal and restart it!

curiouser and curiouser.... that exact error message comes up because when it asks for your ip address, it gets the wrong string and so splits it up poorly...

What do you get when you just type in "sudo ifconfig"?
(copy the output to a text file "sudo ifconfig > this.txt" and then copy that text file here)

If it's just your local network, with 192.168.X.Y as your wlan0 address, then yes - its safe. No one can do **** with that.

But you can PM me if you want

Unless especially set up, sudo should not ask for password on the n900, even if one has been set for root.

I would "apt-get purge xxxxx" tester (if still installed) and phonestreamer and start again. Maybe even rootsh. Reboot and reinstall the stuff you want.

@lucky88shp - Yeah, for some reason "sudo ifconfig" doesn't work on your device, and you have to do "sudo gainroot" then "ifconfig" after, which doesnt work with the app.

I recommend doing exactly everything that handaxe just mentioned doing, because what you've shown me isn't standard 'rootsh' behaviour.
Edit: purge rootsh too, and then reinstall it

ok so i purged both phonestreamer and rootsh, restarted phone then installed rootsh followed by phonestreamer. Still no luck, everythings the same from crash while generating sdp file and segmentation fault while running it via terminal, and also no sudo commands running without root (asking for password). WTF, AAAAAARRRRGGGHH!!!

Can it be that im using a custom ip on my desktop...but that doesnt really matter i believe cuz im putting the same exact ip in phonestreamer. I give up for today!!!
