Hi,
pardon me for the next topic.
But i think the downgrade is very big problem, and wide topic.
Maybe, we all together do something with it.

So first, we need to know how the blocker works.
Probably, its compares the installed version of firmware with it which we want to install.
By the version or date.

The first thing that comes to my mind, is change the
firmware version info in Phone, or in *.BIN file (if can).
Perhaps in this way may we deceive downgrade blocker.

I have got Nokia N9, so I can testing on it.

We stay in contact!
Grzegorz

Hi, thanks for the replay.
I have a question why everybody don't try ?
All of us, when hear: "It's impossible" then go away...

It's only system so we can do that!

nobody need it. all "normal" peoples need new, updated firmware. If you can't customize it for yourself you shouldn't use this phone.

You can't flash old firmware. Even you flashed, phone won't boot. There are not only "files" in firmware. There are too many special certificates, security areas. No one geek will investigate downgrade here, because all geeks like new, updated software. Am i right, people?

I know this is not a solution per se, but what I do is, I usually update the firmware after I see people's reaction who actually did update first.. And read more about it.. and even see videos..

EDIT: Props to the OP! I actually enjoyed reading his post!

im a firm supporter of doing this. its the last thing that we absolutely cannot do. it will let us go back to pr1.2 if they ruin things.
