I wonder whether it is possible to share e.g. photos from my Nokia N9 to a Samsung Galaxy Nexus via NFC (for authorization, Bluetooth for transmission)? Or is the way how two N9's use this method not really a standard?

What else can be done with it?

I verified the other day that the 'Angry Birds Magic' NFC trick to open locked levels works between my N9 and 700, but I suppose I could try a few other NFC things (sending photos, contacts, etc...?) between the two phones when I get a chance.

I think the way N9 is sharing files via NFC/Bluetooth is a standard.
But this standard is not supported by Android as they invented their own proprietary way of sharing files with NFC.

I'd sound dumb, I know, but how do u guys "unlock" the Angry Birds Magic between two N9s thru NFC?

I tried keeping the game on it's home screen in all my N9s and touching each other - but sadly nothing happens... the locked levels remain the same.

Sorry for being a noob in a techie forum.

If unlocking Angry Birds fails with NFC, there's always the tool foreveralone to just unlock it. Look at http://apps.formeego.org for foreveralone.

Edit: this is the link.

- make sure NFC is on (both phones)
- i'm not positive, but you may need to have previous levels unlocked via normal play, i.e. the next level you'd want to 'open' would be in the row of 'NFC-locked' levels.

when I did the NFC trick between a Nokia 700 and the N9, the 'next NFC levels' unlocked on the N9, but when I tried to go back and do the same for the 'locked NFC levels' on the 700, it didn't work... and that's why I'm guessing that the previous levels would need to be open/played, before you can unlock the 'next NFC levels'.

- touch phone together for a second or two, and my experience was that the phone that had its levels unlocked... vibrated a bit... to let you know NFC was at work, but that behavior (vibrating, audible noise, etc...) may depend on your current ringing/vibrating profile.

HTH.

I unlocked my Angry Bird Levels using my Blackberry 9360.
Launched the Smart Tag app on it and it unlocked a raw everytime I touched them together. Now I have all levels unlocked.

With the recent update to OS 7.1 on the BB, I can share files between the 2.
BB -> N9 works fine, but N9 -> BB doesn't work for some reason!

I'm so excited about this NFC that I went ahead and bough me some NFC stickers from eBay!

Out of curiosity I unlocked AngryBirds levels with my Sofia Metro(subway) pass card. It turned out it is using NFC, but it is a pity that they didn't thought of making a way to pay for your travel using your phone/device.
I am really looking forward to see more use of NFC in real life.
