I currently have a john.doe@gmail.com account, but I also have other email accounts such as jdoe@ieee.org and jdoe@stanford.edu forwarding emails to this gmail account. When I check my email on gmail, I can send emails using the identity that I want. I have successfully set up john.doe@gmail.com on my N810, but is there any easy way of setting up multiple identities on this gmail account?

All I did was set up multple accounts in modest. The main problem with that is that modest wants to download email for each account. So as I recall I set up a dummy account that didn't get email and used those login details for each of the identity accounts.
Or I used 127.0.0.1 for the server, I can't be sure now, as I gave up and used the anti-finger friendly claws because it was just too much hassle.
