*UPDATE* 21/03/12
Just realized I should've had this thread in my sig many mth ago, updated OP with much more info!

Go HERE to cast your vote, original/closed thread is here...

Make sure you watch that they've added it, sometimes they won't bother unless you "remind" them.
Definitely seems to be some weird bias going on, CBF'd elaborating too much, could be entirely coincidental.*
You are allowed 1x vote per device, per user, so you can do 1x for the N9* & 1x for the N900.
I'd recommend against splitting the Maemo 6x (Harmattan) vote into N9 & N950.
If you want a presence there for the N950, just vote for the N9.

Lumia 710 has rocketed past N9/900, last time I checked approx. 2mth ago it wasn't even on the list.
Quite sure the N9/900's tally is the same as last time I checked, I'm surprised there's not been a single vote since.
Especially since when I was actively observing/nudging it was steadily growing, I disappear & it remains stagnant.
L800 never even had to go through this process, it was pushed straight to it's own sub-forum ages ago.
They make clear that they don't necessarily operate by consensus alone, there are others factors etc.

For further detail why a presence there is good overall than not, see subsequent posts in this thread.
If for some reason you see it as a negative thing, then by all means do not vote.
But leave others to freely make their own choice...

*Here's some correspondence w/them to highlight what I mean:

Yeah but my point is it's still flawed...

There's got to be a better tamper-proof way of keeping a running tally.
At the moment everyone relies on the integrity of those running the thread.
I'm not questioning your integrity, but there's always that possibility.

Plus people make mistakes....
If you have a record of who/how-many voted for what for all to see.
Then others are likely to pick up those mistakes etc.

A thread is messy, so I can understand why you wanted to do away with it.
Plus it's easy for it to be gamed too...
There must be something like change.org, but geared for running tallies?

I know in-the-end it doesn't just come down to which devices have the no's.
But it'd be good to know we have 100% impartial/accurate no's to start with.
And then the "powers that be" can make their choices from there.

Also this post has been recently updated...
But strangely the vote count for the N9 hasn't gone up since I lodged mine?

Thank-you.
After repeated attempts & a subtle warning that I'd get a admin friend involved:

Any particular reason the vote was omitted in the 1st place?
That issue I mentioned of people making mistakes no doubt.
Thanks anyway for correcting the tally!

In fact, the thread is not even needed, we just created it to stop the forum being cluttered with new request threads.
Oh that's okay...
I'll just raise the suggestion with someone more appropriate.
Tis just an idea, not meant to be confronting anyone.

Thanks again.
At least one other vote wasn't added while I was actively monitoring the thread.
And the entire N9/N900 tally disappeared for a time & didn't return until repeated reminders.
Could all be a total misunderstanding but it's only fair to share, just in case it's not.

I've found over the yrs they're oddly distant/cold toward folk with the slightest interest in maemo/n9xx.
Not sure what it's all about.....

Anyway folks can still go to the other thread linked-to in that thread, and cast their vote.
If we get 20 plus people from here voting in there, that may start to get their attention

Not sure what its all about.....
prolly because we have newer versions of android up and running on our N900's before most android phones ...jealousy/envy is a b*tch lol

Why not? It can't hurt IMO....
It is a very active/vibrant dev. community over there.
If we can get some more eyes over there interested, all the better.
I've found them to be very rude on more than on occasion though.
Maybe I've just been unlucky...

As in vanilla MeeGo? (MeR/Nemo etc)
Who knows, I don't get them, they're weird, def. elitist in many respects.
(not that it's necessarily justified)

Yes, the old vanilla MeeGo. It's not even being updated anymore, so I just stick with ICS on my HD2.

The difference between TMO and XDA is that on here, most if not all programs you'd use on your phone are free (and most of the time open source) while on XDA, many people charge for what they've made (and for those things that are free, they're closed)

BTW, I believe that we're seen as a sort of niche in the mobile community, in the same category as Precentral. We've got our own place on the interwebs, and we've largely settled in our own communities.
