Hi all,

I am using PR1.3.1 with CSSU-stable and since upgrading to CSSU-stable about two months ago I have experienced twice where all my widgets on the desktop disappears (a reboot doesn't restore them) and I have to reinstall the widgets. I have three questions for everyone. They are:

1. Has anyone else experienced this? I tried the search button, nothing.
2. What other information will you need from me to troubleshoot this.
3. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Not sure if it also related, but I have experienced (a few times a week) where I can scroll between desktop screens but tapping on any icons (contacts, apps or widgets) does not work/respond.

Thanks in advance.

Which theme are you using and which widgets do you run? I vaguely remember feedint-it widget crashed my desktop on some occasions.

* Ussd widget
* TVBGone
* Caller ID State Switcher Widget
* luxus
* maxcpu
* Profile Changer Widget
* recaller
* Personal IP Address

I doubt that anyone would pinpoint one widget to crash your desktop, so try which of these could be the culprit, by enabling them one by one, and watch if it makes things unstable.

same issue on my n900. but i gjuess its not related to cssu. in over 2 years it shows this problem perhaps three times, when i install or upgrade a program. three times doesnt matter for me.

Looking at that list, I think it would be Queen Beacon Widget, but not sure. I have a alot of QBWs and OMWeather widget and whenever I am resizing or moving the QBW's or am changing the appearence of OMWeather, once in a while all the widgets disappear and I have the put them back on one by one.

Same issue on mine, all the widget disappear. To restore them, I manually re-add them from the hildon menu (the position is still saved)...

For me, it was definitely OMWeather widget. Leaving this off the desktop, no issues with crashing & disappearing widgets at all.

I also have:

- Calendar Home Widget (1x)
- ConnectNow (8x)
- Desktop Command Execution Widget (2x)
- Internet Radio (1x)
- Personal IP Address (1x)
- TVBGone (1x)
- Profile Changer Widget (1x)

...so you can leave those from testing, as they seem stable.

Any suggestions? Perhaps a utility to backup the desktops so that we can simply restore it should the widgets disappear again! But that would be addressing the symptoms and not addressing the root cause.
