the upgrade i would pay for is:

256mb extra internal mem
256mb extra internal rootfs flash
dual core cortex a9

then hardware wise it would be pretty perfect!
N9000!
N900 hardware is good, yes dual core cortex a9 is dream but the very problem of n900 is the beta os.
Now cortex a9 + 512mb ram + maemo 5 nothing changes.

No official mms
No videocall (2010 -.-)
Old app interface (not look good), desktop and app menu is good.
Bad call system, user esperience not very good
Not fluid scroll
Mail app very bad!!
miss portrait
ecc.. ecc.. ecc..

???? i'm kinda shocked at all the response lol

Yes i would pay extra for both of the upgrades. I never use my stylus anyways and i rather have multi touch. I fact i would call the n900 the perfect device if it had a capacitive screen.

IMHO capacitive>resistence

Yes I would pay for both.
I prefer AMOLED for clearer, brighter image plus improved battery life and I prefer the sensitivity and multi-touch capability of capacitive screens.

rofl.... i havent told you my answer....^^

so....

i would pay for amoled.... -> battery , breakproof, and better colors....
i would pay for capacitive too -> scratchproof, no preasure just swiping, maybe multitouch ....

i would also pay for at least a scratchproof layer on my resistive touchscreen ....

Amoled yes (saves battery and looks pretty)
Capacitive NO (ruins precision and brings NO advantage I can see)

I wouldn't pay for either as an upgrade but I would take the AMOLED multitouch in a heartbeat in a new device. However I still wouldn't want the low res capacitative for input.

i would not.

a lot of parts of the OS are not really finger-friendly, so losing he stylus will definitely be a loss.

also, in my opinion, capacitive-screen-devices are just too sensitive. when i use a friends phone (which has a capacitive screen) i permanently click stuff by accident.

this maybe because i'm generally not used to capacitive screens, as i never actually owned a capacitive-screen-device (all devices i owned have resistive screens), but still its just inconvenient to me.
