Yes, it worked fine when I was playing with it - was trying to get it working as a full scale serial console (in kernel command line), but no dice.

Maybe it would be possible to do something cool with my /bootmenu.sh hook in preinit.

Nice, thanks.

Although I don't want a shell, I just want to be able to communicate with a USB microcontroller via a program on the n900. Can this g_serial be accessed as a normal device node?
