The Following User Says Thank You to kingstu For This Useful Post: | ||
I've been gone a while. I sold my N900 and got a Samsung Note for 2 years. I just got a Note 3 yesterday as well.
But I need to get my wife a decent phone w/ a nice Camera etc for use on AT&T's network
We do not want to incur a Data plan, but WiFi would be awesome.
So I read that ATT is tagging N9's with Smartphone plans and I was wondering if this is possible:
1) Get the N9, and enable developer so I can mod it via Root.
2) Delete APN so that it would not even try to access Cellular Data
3) Delete the IMEI/EFS data or directory so it gets a generic IMEI and won't be ID'd on ATT as a N9
So we would use it for voice and WiFi and that's it.
I have to use it on my ATT family plan, because her phone only costs $10/month. So switching plans is not an option.
Is this possible?
I would like to get back to some MeeGo/Maemo stuff!
Thanx!
