Hi TMO,

I would like to know if I can change my N9 hostname via terminal will affect anything on the phone?

And lets say if update comes.. (pr1.3? :P) will it revert bacm to RM 696?

Just change "/etc/hostname" as root. It is safe, I have done it 5 months ago.

thanks for this! but how do I restart the network service, so that the changes took effect immediately?

If you have INCEPTION 0.2 installed, you can change it immediately with ariadne hostname newname. Otherwise, rebooting with devel-su -c /sbin/reboot ought to do the trick.
