Would it be safe to back-rev modest because the current version no longer enables connection to an imap server? That is really inconvenient and one of the reasons that I bough the N900.
If so is there a .deb that I could download?

Since when doesn't modest connect to an imap server? I'm only using imap, always been. Everything works. When did this stop working for you?

I updated last Friday to 20.2010.36-2.203.1
I then read this
http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_Email_Opt...for_Push_Email
Which looked like they had removed IMAP.
I could only find a POP3 option so I assumed that they had removed it. Today I tried again, deleted the remnants of my old account and started again with the wizard - Magic! I found IMAP4 - Dooooh
Maybe with future updates a few of the configs could survive. Hopeful??
