i see nokia as primarily a hardware company

if it sells more handsets that they manufacture, don't see why they wouldnt consider doing it.

they sell a netbook with 3g with windows 7 on it

I'd be less suprised with HTC- surely last year they were moving up the ladder in terms of handset manufacturing.

And didn't engadget leak an SDK or something with a HTC phone named as a WP7 device recently?

Not sure if i believe that... MeeGo not mention... seems a bit too ... random for nokia, allthough probably not unwelcomed from a business perspective... choice is good.

I donīt think the slide means that. Nokia has other hardware and software (ovi suite) running on windows. QT makes it possible to develop for all those platforms.

They have also stated that they have no plans to make winmo phones.

I think the slide is about Qt and how it integrates different platforms on Ovi, not about future phones and their OS es.

Simple confusion here.

Basically Nokia is not going to be making Windows phones, not at all. They are set on their decision with MeeGo and Symbian!

Their development platform Qt 4.6 which has been added into PR1.2 allows for programs to be compiled and used on MULTIPLE platforms.

So apps written in Qt 4.6 can easily be compiled to run on Symbian/Maemo/Meego/Windows ect.

Hope this clears it up for ya
