First time installer. v1.4 not working at all when i load up the app. Just show blank screen and then disappeared.

Try to install 1.3 but it required other dependencies or plugin. And when i try to install plugin...it won't let me. I don't know what to do.

I found the problem, here's a workaround: Open a terminal and execute the following two commands:
Code:
mkdir -p /home/user/MyDocs/.local/share/marble/bookmarks
touch /home/user/MyDocs/.local/share/marble/bookmarks/bookmarks.kml
I'll upload fixed packages soon, so it's probably not worth to fiddle with the workaround, just wait some hours and install 1.4.0-2.

@romanianusa, zincholic: I'm not aware of any dependency problems for 1.3, can you tell what packages/plugins are blocking it?

Thank you earthwings.

@romanianusa & zincholic:

The following worked for me.

First purged marble 1.4
Code:
sudo apt-get purge marble marble-data marble-plugins marble-maps
and then installed 1.3.0
Code:
sudo apt-get install marble=1.3.0 marble-data=1.3.0 marble-plugins=1.3.0 marble-maps=1.3.0
Available versions and dependencies are displayed by:
Code:
sudo apt-cache policy marble
sudo apt-cache showpkg marble

Version 1.4.0-2 is now in extras-testing. If it works fine for you and you've got a spare minute, please give both packages a vote:

EDIT: This was a more general problem, other programs had problems too. Eventually it went away, I think after upgrading some unrelated package using HAM.

Hi, I was using version 1.3 and everything worked well until about yesterday or so, when the UI started to look odd and make some dialogs unusable. For example:

Upgraded to 1.4.0-2 but the problem continues. Do you have any ideas of what could be the cause and how to fix it?

Thanks!

EDIT: As you can see is like input widgets are not shown or badly rendered, but they are there, if I select the text in an input I can see it.
