Must say I'm quietly encouraged by this if not massively overwhelmed with desire. Glad they stuck with the Poly N9 form design...that's a winner.

However I'm not convinced it'll have enough momentum to take on Android ICS...

Question is where are the Apps going to come from ?...& how quickly ? Plus .....I just can't believe they left NFC off - that's a potential gamechanger....surely there's another high-ender to come ?

Specs-wise when you factor in the price.....it looks like a loss-leader. However it won't get off the ground without the Apps.....does anyone know where these will come from ??

And...will Nokia Music work without WiFI ?

It all seems very locked - in a la Microsoft / Apple.....I don't want to be tied into SkyDrive/Bing/M$... I have my own preferences.....

And the keynote was very Microsoft & not very Nokia.....I sincerely hope Nokia isn't going to be absorbed...

Not letting my n900 go just yet.....

according to

No SD card?

I have 64GB on my N900!
So why should I buy that WP7 crap?

No dual core.
Battery BV-5JW 3.7V 1450mAh is also weak.
Capacitive . :-(
No lense cover as the N900 has.
A tiny flash (wonder how this will be usable).
No keyboard.

Small form factor but afaics the N9 already has that and I like the size and grip of my N900,
so this would be no USP.

Ok, the 710 may serve as entry point but the 800 is a big fail
if there does not follow anything better.
i totally agree with you and think N feel the same!!!

the design is nice, but why oh why:

1) is the homescreen with the tiles soooo ugly?! plus the tiles are inferior to widgets due to the small size, there is not enough space to project anything relevant.

2) are there no customizable homescreens? the n900 had the best solution with 100% fully customizable homescreens, this is what nokia should be building on.

3) is there no notification light??!

4) no windowsphone with a slideout keyboard?

I'm extremely naive. When Mr Elop said about the new handset "this is the first real Windows phone"

i stupidly took this to mean it was running the real windows operating system.

How ironic Lumia translates to prostitute in spanish, because Nokia certainly has whored itself out under Elop!
And this phone ain't no high price call girl either. More like $2 crack whore.
