Running the latest OS2007HE on my 770. Searched and saw a lot of posts about the battery lasting for days in standby/ sleep mode, but I'm not seeing the same thing. Fully charged (4 bars) first thing in the morning and even if I don't use it, it will usually be down to 2 bars by the evening. It will be down to 1 bar or low battery the next morning or afternoon.

So basically it needs to be charged every night.

Anyone else?

I also don't get the Battery Full message unless I'm actually using it when it hits that mark. After about 4 hours of being plugged in, the battery level meter will stop scrolling but it will still say charging.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

how old is the battery? do you leave any programs running over night?

try going into the terminal, and typing in 'top'

is anything using an abnormally high amount of CPU? (press q to exit top)

as far as why it doesn't say its full, I don't know, but if the meter stops scrolling, I would imagine its not acutaly charging.

Thanks for your input.

The battery is practically new. I have 3 and behavior is the same with all. Battery life is actually quite good when I'm actually using the device -- about 3-4 hours.

No programs left running. Wouldn't standby kill them anyway? I know that any wifi connection is terminated. To be clear, I'm sliding the device back into the hard case backwards. That's sleep, isn't it? Perhaps OS2007HE doesn't handle this correctly?

I'm a noob to Linux/Unix but here are the 'top' results. Are the various maemo-launcher lines normal? And wouldn't the CPU also stop when in sleep mode?

I get poor battery life on my N810 too, and keep on thinking that it's maemo-launcher/modest fault.
