Hello,

I've just put on extras-testing a first version of WolframAlpha App.
This is a pure QML application that, by using the wolframalpha.com API, let you use one of the best (if not the best) computational knowledge engine.
For those who don't know what walframalpaha is, take a look here.
To have an overview of what you can do, try these examples.

P.S. Please keep in mind that I've a non-commercial API key, so I've a limit of 2000 query per month!

Best Regards,
Daniele Maio.

Hello, i haven't tried out the app yet, but i just have one suggestion to make.
If it is possible, could you somehow make an offline version? possibly with a downloadable database or something? It's just because most of the time that i need wolfram alpha (at school), i have very very bad coverage, so I am unable to use the internet.
If you could, that would be awesome, but if you can't, don't worry about it.

Installed and does not work. It show only black screen. Output from console:
Code:
$ /opt/wolframalpha/bin/wolframalpha
file:///opt/wolframalpha/qml/wolframalpha/wfa.qml:2:1: module "QtMobility.sensors" is not installed
     import QtMobility.sensors 1.1
     ^

I have installed WolframAlpha on two N900, but when I start the app I always get an empty (black) screen.

Looks like you're missing some dependencies. Have you installed PyQt Full? I think that should be the one you need

I do not know. I installed only package wolframalpha via apt-get. But this is problem with package... Why it does not have correct dependences??

From what (little) I know of Wolfram Alpha, what you ask is impossible. All the processing/searching is done on the server. It would be like asking for a offline version of Google.

Yes. Wolfram Alpha is just a webservice, we would need a arm build of Wolfram Mathematica.
