Some people say to uninstall conflicting apps that prevent the OTA update (the "use Nokia PC suite to update" message comes up).

But which ones to uninstall?

Why did you start a new thread? If you read the threads which says what you stated they give the instructions needed to find out which apps needs to be removed.

I spent an hours searching through numerous posts and google gave no useful results, hence the new post

Where are those threads you speak of?

You can use faster application manager to force OTA update.

conflicts appear here:


simple apt-get remove conflictingpackagename worked at least for me.

In the list of updates, click the Maemo update, then select "details" or something similar from the menu that appears, and then one of the tabs will list conflicts.
