To connect to my companys wireless network, I configured the connection as:
  • WAP-EAP
  • EAP Method: PEAP
  • EAP Typ: EAP-GTC

This was the only way, I got it to work. However, the problem with this setup is that it does not store the password (only the user id). Now, whenever I need to reconnect, it ask me to enter the password (twice actually) again and the password field does not support copy & paste, meaning I really have to type it. This is quite annoying because I have turned on auto disconnect to save battery power.

Is there any other way for this type of connection to save the password somewhere, so that it gets pulled from that place?
Or do you have any other suggestions. I have tried the other EAP methods but those didn't work with my companys wireless network. I could use the data connection with vpnc but I don't have 3G which makes this a really slow alternative when inside my companys building.

Not much use to you, but usually EAP authentication uses a key generator of some kind (fob type things), so normally saving a password would be unhelpful.

bump again.
all it needs to do is to remember the password and enter it when requested.

I realize this is extremely old, but.

BUMP!

The most anoying thing regarding the n900 is having to write the password every day, every time I come back home.

I'll have to bump too (even if a year and nine months after the last post) because I have the same issue and it is annoying to type the password every time especially if it is this kind of password that you can't remember: A42-(sfe56_ds87566
