Hello,
Is there any site where I can find a way to re-load a clean version of N810 os2008??? I have spent months clicking around the web and come up with nothing. Or how does one remove and re-install the email feature in N810. My just got frozen. web surfing still works so WiFi still working. Cannot send or receive any messages. Worked for years without a htich. Out of blue...now shot....not responses. Tablet keeps telling me when I try to open a pdf... memory full. I looked on file mgr and all is empty? I hate to toss it! If you guys are writing new programs... someone some where must know where the is a stash of the original O/S????
I will keep writing this request until it is answered.

Keep writing and "searching" another few months.

NO, STOP writing!
One thread is enough!

Or use
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=14
or maybe
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=15

This information (skeiron.org) is out there a long time, latest since removal of Nokia official site (tablets-dev).

Hey, is the skeiron.org link still valid? I'm getting an "Error 504: Gateway Timeout" message when I try to navigate to it...

I'm still getting the same response going directly to 5.9.155.69. Could be something with my isp, but the rest of the net seems fine...

Do you try to access
http://skeiron.org
directly?
This does not give a real web site (just a "no").
But
http://skeiron.org/repo/
should show the repo to you.

You may see here that is it just you:

Apparently, it just doesn't like me. The /repo gives me the same error, but the "downfor..." site does say that skeiron.org is up.

Annoying. Everything else on the web seems to be working for me. Oh well...

Thanks for the information but........

Is this what I need? Problem is that what do I do with it?

I have no idea what "it" is...
Is this the OS for N810???

But what is "this" thing?

what do i do with it...
Is it everything?
Sorry a bin means nothing to me.

Is there an installer that uses this "bin" ????

Ah, good! If you've got that file, that's the most important thing.

Ok, deep breath here. Roughly speaking, the answer is "yes". If you would like a more precise answer to that question, please do take a few minutes and peruse the "updating the firmware" wiki:

http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_firmware

This page will go into much more detail about exactly what the "firmware" consists of (for the N810 as well as for other Nokia tablets).

what do i do with it...
In short, you feed it into a "Software Updater" or "Flasher" program. The wiki above provides more information about this process, although you will need to skip over the parts that refer only to the N900...

Is it everything?
What it contains is, essentially, what you are looking for: the code needed to reset the tablet to its initial state.

Yes. Hopefully, you'll be able to find it on skeiron.org, just like the .bin file. (I still can't seem to get through to skeiron.org myself). I think in one of your threads you mentioned that you have a Windows XP machine, so you'll probably want to get something called the "Software Update Wizard". Sorry I can't help you find it at the moment, as I can't see what is actually in the skeiron.org collection.

Thanks but I think I might have a better explanation of the problem.
I am the original owner but the instrucion manual is very limited.
So, clicking around I see that the tablet Device memory has only 1.05 MB available... total is about 249.5MB .... Yet nothing is running or open... not even the Email program.

I located two features: "Restore original settings" and "Clear Device"....
I then ran both of them twice.... Only then set up Wifi connection
Yet the memory is still "full"????

I empted the Email box of all emails. It still will not send. It keeps telling me... not enough memory!!!

There are no visible message in the in-box
EXCEPT
in the "Account" -- of the email window...
EVEN THOUGH ALL MESSAGES HAVE BEEN DELETED...it says

POP account: account
Messages: 567
Folders: 1
Last Update: 10:16:05
----...
Where is it getting the goofy idea there are 567 messages..
yet all are deleted from my email in the tablet?
Is that 567 number goofying up my N810... I do not see how since I do not have access to them?

ALSO....I DID A RESTORE TWiCe AND CLEAR DEVICE twice????

Can anyone narrow down the issue???????
