Overview

Rockwatch allows your N9 to communicate with a Pebble smart watch. It makes it possible to install and manage Pebble apps, upgrade your Pebble's firmware, receive notifications of e-mails and SMS messages and control your music from your Pebble.

That's pretty cool. But I wonder how music was easier to do than any comms items. Goes to show how much of the internal I've missed reading up on.

If comms can be done, rss and even pushing actions to the N9 like confirming NFC resists could be done from there. Neat

I just checked the prices of those watches, damn they are expensive....!
I hope someone can get LiveView (the SonyEricsson Watch) to harmattan, which is much cheaper...

Some user is trying to get it to work, he needs some help though

I honestly almost bought a LiveView.
I'm glad I didn't. It's not really a "Smart" watch. You push images to the phone and backwards.
I took all day today and snooped around Pebble SDK, videos, forums and rest and it is a much better concept.
True, at this phase of production it is a bit expensive, but I expect the price to drop a little and SDK and API to become stable.
I am very interested how this will work with N9.
For example, will 3rd party apps be able to adapt Harmattan apps to support Pebble, etc.
I know it is too early to ask for a release, but please, keep them videos coming, even if it's just showing a bug. :P

Would you recommend making a preorder or buying one from Ebay?
Just asking, my responsibility 100%.

I guess it depends how frantic you are to get your hands on one, from what I've seen all the ones selling on ebay have ended up being a fair bit more expensive than the official price.

All of the plain black ones for Kickstarter backers have already shipped now, but the coloured ones haven't started shipping yet. I don't know if this means that black pre-orders will start shipping soon or if that won't happen until after the coloured Kickstarter ones have also shipped.

So an official order might get filled soon if it's black, or it might still be a long wait. Which I realise isn't terribly helpful .
