It is actually an interesting suggestion, since USB 2.0 is supported by Type C. The question is, when will it be available?

Putting USB type C in the Neo900 would bring it's disadvantages and (almost) none of it's advantages.

disadvantages:
So far it's not widely spread and depending on the future market situation and your personal hardware update cycle you'll have to use that special "Neo900 cable" for the next 2-5 years. Sounds like bitten fruit to me.
By the time this situation changes (iff it ever does) there will probably be a Neo901 or some upgrade board.

advantages:
USB type C supports high power supply and data transfer capabilities. None of the Neo900 hardware can handle these, so this point is moot.
In addition type C has no "upside down" problem when inserting it. That might be an actual benefit, but I don't see it being that huge.

I think he is (what is commonly referred to in the medical community as) "Device Hallucinating" his Matrix and Bond movies together.

I know it's hard...I find it well-nigh impossible too....but let's try to keep the Forums clean of Marx Brothers slapstick and try to contain our medical condition known as "Guffawsteritus"
to the Off topic area that is kindly provided for jokers like us.

Quick question...
Where can most recent donation numbers be seen? The ones on neo900.org are from 10th of August, right?
Thank you.

Sorry those numbers are already over 3 weeks old. I'm still trying to catch up after my holiday. New numbers to arrive RSN :-)

On a sidenote, I've been busy with starting proto_v2 building process during the last week. Now this is done, we're progressing at nominal speed again, first time since a few months (since reorg). \o/

cheers

Please see http://neo900.org
We consider donations as "device that somebody will want to buy", so we get into contact with all our donors once the "mass" production starts. It's still unclear if and how many devices we can afford to build "for stock", to sell them to users who didn't donate and want to order after the first batch got built. When there are enough such late orders, we will build a second batch, but that may take a while.
So my suggestion is you consider to donate and we will build a device for you and contact you about further details before we do.

Thanks for your interest in Neo900!

jOERG
