This is great applications, can someone add in future keyboard shortcuts for-vlcremote.

What is the status of Media Player Classic support? I am considering writing an app for it. For my uses MPC is much better than VLC. There a several android apps for MPC remote control but none for Maemo it seems....

Sorry, not checked this thread for a while.

What shortcuts would you be interested in using?
Ideally being consistent with other media players:
i.e. SPACE = Play/Pause

etc

Sorry missed this as well.

What does controlling MPC look like over http? Do you know if it's XML or JSON based etc? Haven't looked at MPC explicitly as I don't routinely run windows but if it fits the same model of control shouldn't be too hard to integrate.

What languages do you work with normally, maybe you want to get involved?

Just wanted to let you know that vlc-remote has issues with latest cssu (16.8). A few seconds after connecting to vlc-server the program crashes without warnings or notifications.

I reported about this to cssu-thread as well, but the devs might miss it. One other user reported crashing as well.

Any chance of gdb backtrace or coredump?

what do you see in a terminal if you run it from there?

also could you browse to the server on your phne's browser. http://yourip:8080/

can you see it okay?
