Just opened my N800. Got it from Buy.com at the $179 deal. Yes, they actually sent it, quite promptly.

I've read here all about upgrading to OS2008. Imagine my surprise, its already loaded! I guess they're shipping from Nokia that way now.

I ordered one from Buy.com also. Should get it in 2 days. Good news that they come preloaded with OS 2008! Unfortunately I just missed that terrific deal, but I still think I got a pretty good price.

Hi All,

Even, I had ordered from Buy.com for ~$171 (5% coupon). It had come with OS2007 and I had to manually upgrade it to OS2008. Preloaded would have been better, though :-)

And BTW, I just got it from them yesterday! I too was surprised that they actually sent it!

Btw, on the top of the box, it says, "free coupon to 3 months unlimited skype calls to any phone". I couldn't find any such coupon in the box.

Could anyone of you?

The N800 I received the other day from Amazon had the coupon in the box. It's small (the size of a business card) and is in the bottom part of the box along with the get started guide and warranty info.

My N800 came with the Skype coupon.

The literature made reference to OS2008, so I don't think its a refurb. For $179, I wouldn't care if it is!

Mine was in my box, but I had just bought a years worth before I got the N800.

No. Nokia is incredibly fast at loading the latest firmware onto their units before shipping, so this is not the case.

Right. As I've said before, we don't tend to inventory large numbers of devices (some exceptions made for accessories). Orders are run a few days at most before they're needed. Standard industry practice. However, retailers may inventory our devices for indeterminate amounts of time.
