is it possible to install a chatbox? i know most forums have them

i think it would be a good way to quickly respond to questions people have or chat for that matter as opposed to relying on posts

It's been discussed before, I think the consensus was it's a bad idea.

For the purposes you mention there are better options:
  • "Quickly respond to questions" - that means there's no log and so the same questions come up again and again.
  • "Have a chat" - use the #maemo channel on Freenode - or, apparently, Jaiku.

I like the idea. I think if people don't want to use it they can ignore it... which could be helped if a visible/hidden setting was available. My only concern would be on website performance.

Yeah, it could sit quietly on #maemo and just pick up stuff.. and spew it out as The Oracle in the chatbox!
