When using the virtual keyboard on the Internet Tablet, there is this option for copy, cut and/or paste text by clicking on a little square on the lower left of the virtual keyboard.

Now, when using the real physical N810 keyboard, how do you copy or cut a highlighted text (with the stylus) and then paste it somewhere. ?

Let me better explain with an example: Not all applications do have a copy/cut/paste on the menu. The perfect example may be the dialog to enter a WEP password, for instance. That dialog does not have a menu per/se, but using the virtual keyboard you can just copy the text from say, an open text file, and then paste it into the wep password field.

Now, how you would do that with the real N810 keyboard only ?

Thanks in advance.

Yes like ericssan explains, you can use ctrl+c for copy and ctrl+v for pasta, just like on a normal pc, also many other shortcuts using he ctrl+other keys. Or you can highlight the text and then hold the stylus on the marked text for about 3 sec, and then a popup menu gives you some selections and then select copy ...

Ctrl-c seems to be quite ubiquitious, but Ctrl-V doesn't work everywhere (like in xterm, unfortunately)

But xterm does have copy/paste on its edit menu so it isn't a big problem. While it's annoying that things aren't completely consistent it would be more annoying if you couldn't use ctrl-c/ctrl-v in applications running the xterm window that use them for other functions.

Other common, but not universal shortcuts.

ctrl-w ( close window )
ctrl-q ( quit app ) - Also by holding down the back key for 1 sec
Hold down the window button to return to the home screen, hold down again to get back to the last app.

Browser
ctrl-l enter new address/location
ctrl-n create new window
