I wrote a small app that will automatically lock the n810 tablet when the keyboard slider is closed. Let me know if anybody has any suggestions or problems.

But good work, Its good to see people coming up with ideas on how to make locking automated.

I saw that app too, but there are plenty of times when I want to lock my tablet, but I don't necessarily want to put it in its case. Also, I work on the tablet in the dark sometimes, so I don't want it to lock while I'm using it.

Also, it only auto locks when you close the keyboard, so if you are working with the keyboard open and then close it, it will lock, but if you are just, say, using canola with the keyboard closed, it will function the same as before.

Thanks for this I've had to uninstall the other app that uses the light sensor to lock. I've been having some odd memory problems and think it might be that app.

So far this app works great.

I am left handed and the other app used to locked my NIT when my hand covered accidentally the sensor.

I will try your alternative.

My N810 did that out of the box. Try this:

1) lock your N810

2) slide the keyboard out: unlock, slide the keyboard out: re-lock
