For those of you who have a Napster subscription it might be of interest that you can now listen to any song on your N800 right in the browser. I had been waiting for a Napster "web play" feature for a long time and a short while ago it finally happened. While I originally only planned to use the feature on my laptop in a full-blown Firefox and didn't really believe it would be worth it to check the functionality on Maemo I am now glad I did.

While it is not lightning fast it's completely usable and makes the N800 more useful than ever.

It works but not great. U can't see the player app all the time and I have a hard time adding songs to the play list. Anybody else have problems with it?

People still use Napster?

Napster is a good deal.

They have dropped the subscription price to $5 a month. That includes 5 free MP3 downloads a month and all the streaming you can do.

I have a Sonos wireless system at home that stream my music library to my home entertainment system and livingroom stereo.

I can stream Pandora and Napster through Sonos as well. When I hear a song I never heard that I like I back out of Pandora and about 90% of the time the entire album is on Napster and I stream the entire album to see if Like it.

Napster sends out emails of all the new stuff they get. I just got an email the other day about the new Chickenfoot album and Levon Helm. Streamed them both and now they are on my hit list of things to buy.

Here a song on LastFM or Slacker and then play to entire thing on Napster.

I bought a cheap 100 watt amp to run my outside speakers (couldn't afford another Sonos zone) and I hook the N810 to it and run Napster through it. Got crank it up but it works for outside patio tunes.

What's the bit rate of Naptster streamed versus download?

One thing I have found that helps is to create play lists on a work station prior to fiddling with Napster interface on the N8xx. Then all you have to do is kick off the player on the N8xx and start the playlist. Fiddling with Napster check boxes and line item drop downs does not work that well.
