I have Maemo Extras set up and it is being refreshed. I've run apt-get install e2fsprogs but I'm told it isn't available and is only referred to by other packages. The output says "However the following packages replace it: libuuid1". I really don't think it will do much for formatting an ext2 filesystem. At least, not on its own.

I read another thread mentioning the same issue with the n800 but the solutions mentioned didn't solve the problem. I'm not entirely familiar with Debian-derived distros so I don't know if I'm missing something that Red Hat and similar distros do. Anyone have a cluebit?

Well, that's weird. No, it actually makes perfect sense (I'm just not paying very much attention). It needs to be promoted, not sure why it hasn't been.

I guess you'll need Extras-devel for the moment.

Would be cool to have it in extras, had the same problem on N810 and had to install a much larger package which included e2fsprogs.

I updated the wiki. If/when someone promotes e2fsprogs, please revert the wiki.
