What is this? A practical demonstration we don't need no stinking iPhone developers?
Video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuQf9cZYb50
Heres how i did it:
1. Get the keyboard cat video from mtube or similar video downloader
2. Copy the icon attached to this post to /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps
(you'll probably need to do this as root with the command 'cp keyboardcat.png /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scaleable/apps/')
3. refresh your icon cache with the command 'gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor'
4. Install personal launcher from maemo extras
5. edit personal launcher and add a launcher for Keyboard Cat by clicking the '+' button
use this command:
mplayer -aspect 16:10 -af volume=10 -softvol -softvol-max 500 <path to keyboard cat video>
to select the keyboard cat icon click 'select icon' and choose 'applications' under the 'type of icon' drop down menu at the top of the window.
