i tried install by map loader by mass storage mode and pc suite mode, but it seems like that the map loader and updater cannot detect the map driver in my n900, i used my ovi map 1.0 on n900 many times but its not sufficent as 3.0.

is anyone know how to install map 3.0 on nokia n900?

thankyou

Maps 3.0 is not available for Maemo.

It's called Maps 1.0 because it's the first version of the Maps for Maemo.

If you need a better solution for Maps, wait out on some third party software, or hope that Nokia addresses some issues in a firmware update.

It is odd though, as there is a loader directory on the N900 by default which would imply it should work.

ovi map 1.0 for maemo is way old and bad compare to the ovi map 3.0 for n97, that sucks for n900...

As above, ovi map 1.0 for maemo is new.

Let me try and explain further:

Ovi Maps for Maemo: BRAND NEW
Ovi Maps for Symbian: Several years of existence hence refinements & bug fixes & features etc.

Simply put? With a little time & patience Ovi Maps 1.0 for Maemo will catch up. Simple as.

Actually I read somewhere, where people were able to download the ovi maps 3.0 on their N900 via mass storage mode, and it worked, and there was also a way to manualy do it. i'll look for the link where i read it at!

EDIT: here are the links...
http://handphone-solution.blogspot.c...0-without.html (got it from the link below, talks about downloadin ovi maps 3.0, but not sure if it would work with n900, it might just be for symbian phones).

http://discussions.nokiausa.com/disc...age.uid=577739 (i thought they were talkin about maps 3.0, but it looks like its still 1.0, so my bad for that)
