Hi,

was:
How to run maemo-mapper from a command line to inject parameters ?

2 years ago maemo mapper was coming with a manual from gnuite's website.

As I recall, it was possible to run maemo-mapper from a command line (X terminal), injecting parameters, commands.

As gnuite's website is no more operational for manual on maemo-mapper, please tell me, if maemo mapper parameters, commands
can be pipe injected into running app from a command line,
to test some way of interaction, while still on my desk.

I would like to test routing by Google and waypoint info.

Running maemo-mapper directly from a command line is not possible.

maemo-mapper can be run from the command line as "maemo-mapper". I can't find any docs on the CLI format. There's nothing in man or info data. I tried starting with --help and it complained about file not found. That implies there are passable CLI parameters, at least one.

Thanks fragos

mardy just PM responded
"
About your question, as far as I know the only allowed parameter that can be specified on the command line is the name of a GPX file to load.
"

MM is an excellent training edu-tool for students to learn how a real navigation does work.

I will do my best to rewrite MM to feature scripting and injection of
parameters, menu options/ selections
from CLI.

The issue is, running
# maemo-mapper
I get the following error
osso_initialize failed.

So my question is how to initialize osso for MM ?

Next suggestion is voice control in MM.

Don't run it as root, then osso_initialize() should work.
