Hi,

I suddenly had a curious idea today and searching google didn't show any good results. Plus its the holidays so I'm away from my desktop where I could try this out on my own.

I have a computer with Windows 7 and Linux/KDE installed in a dual boot configuration. I'm wondering if its possible to call up the Linux/KDE install in a virtual machine inside Windows 7. I'm not talking about installing a second Linux/KDE (so third os on system) into a virtual machine, I'm talking about using virtual machine software to boot the already existing second OS up inside the first OS.

Anybody have any opinions/experiences/suggestions?

VMware and Virtualbox both support this I believe. When You go to add a hard drive add a physical disk partition and point it to the the partition that Linux is on.

*should* work.. I think.

In virtualbox, its not that straight forward but possible.

Odd.. could have swore I saw the option in the latest VBox I had... I'm not home though, can't check.

Sorry for rekindling an old thread was just going through this, but it is possible using coLinux or qemu.
