An internet-based application I use for work sometimes requires "shift-clicking" to select a block of events or "ctrl-clicking" to select two or more non-sequential events at once. Coming from the physical keyboard-less N-800, I assumed the N810 and N900 would be able to shift/ctrl click. Looks like my N900 can't.
Are there any work-arounds to make this happen?

I think the main difference is that shift and control act not like they act on usual keyboard: once pressed they would be active until another key is pressed.
So one of two things should be changed:
The way keyboard works or the way browsers works with keyboard.

Agreed--they DON'T work in the usual way with the screen clicking--but they COULD be programed to--or a work-around could be programed in. I got a nice private message with some leads, but may not have time to check them out until mid-Jan.

I did find the gesture trick of sliding from off-screen-left across the screen to enable "hover mode" and the pointer feature. That lets me double-click and activate stubborn drop-down menus on some web pages. While that also allows capturing text, it doesn't substitute for the shift-click and Ctrl-click in the application I need for work.
