Hi Guys,

Tried searching for an answer but no luck.

Have some music and loads of pictures on my phone that have now dissapeared.

What i mean is whilst the music and pictures are still on the phone and can be seen and opened with the browser on the phone, they dont appear in the media gallery or under the photo gallery.

When I go to music it says "no music files"
When i go to photo gallery it says "no image files"

What i have tried so far :

Connecting the phone to PC and disconnecting to refresh the media gallery. When i go in to Music on the phone it comes up with the updating/file refresh and when that finishes back to "no music files"

flashed the phone using command line flasher - no change

Anyone have any suggestions / had the same issue ?

Thanks in advance

From http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=38023

to reset the trackers database: run "tracker-processes -r" in the terminal
Resetting the tracker database should get things cleared up.

this happened to me when the rootfs was 98%
run [df -h] and see how is your rootfs, also restarting solves alot of unknown problems

Well i have used only 148M/228M in my rootfs. So means i have lot of space left.
Should i still use your command. What actually this command does?

And i have restarted my phone lots of time already

Have you ever edited /home/user/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg ?

A while ago I messed up a path in there, and tracker could never fully index my videos/music/photos, no matter how many times I ran tracker-refresh.

Now I use Quiver image viewer, and other music/video players that don't rely on tracker, and I've set tracker to be more or less disabled.

Have had a problem with music gallery being empty. Picture viewer behaved normally (wish there was a default startup folder). i tried all the suggestions above.

Finally, i powered down, removed the battery and the micro SD card, replaced both, restarted and now everything is fine.

install tracker cfg
open it tracker cfg
under the index throttle section, move the slider from 0 to about 10 for a few moments, go and open your media player and hopefully the index will update, once you see the files, reverse the throttle slider to 0 or the original position.
