i dont have test data, but it looks like it is not win like you said, i look at battery-eye graphs but i dont see improvments. unfortunately i lost this graphs, when i uninstall battery-eye and install batterygraph

I agree. At least a little more info than your post gave.

Yup its possible, I just flashed mine to run @ 700mhz and indeed it feels faster!

EDIT: I will test a lot now... will report back tomorrow if my phone has turned to dust.

Well at least it can now calculate pi faster
About general snappiness... It's very hard to say which is real and which is placebo effect but at least it isn't slower than before

The instructions are all there:
http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...o_Kernel_Guide

Just remember, if you break it it's your own damn fault

Also the image attachment feature either sucks or I don't know how to use it.

So you can simply change the clock speed from the xterminal?
Does that just increase the maximum limit?
or does it fix the speed to that frequency permanently?

Can you let us know simply what needs to be done in a few steps?
(I've never fiddled around with the kernel yet so no idea where to start)
Is it basically, modifying the kernel, compile and flash?
If so, can someone upload the already modified kernel?

No, you can't change it from xterminal. You need to modify kernel sources and compile a custom kernel (you'll need the SDK and stuff) and then flash it to the device. It's gonna be tricky if you've never done it before... The link I put in the previous post explains the basic steps. It's probably easier to wait for someone to share the kernel image (no, not me, at least not right now)...

Anyway, I probably won't be running mine maxed at 800, as I prefer stability (I had no problems during the short test run though). Just wanted to see/prove it is possible Oh who am I kidding. Going to have a longer test run at 800MHz.

I will see how much clock speed I can get mine running at... Just tried 800mhz and tried psx4all for 10minutes and no crash so far. I hope it doesnt fry! Also enabled the 125mhz mode.

What caused some odd behaviour was when I set the second fastest speed to over 590mhz it stopped switching to fastest speed. So had to revert to 125,250,500,550,800 from 125,250,500,650,800.

Im sooooo tempted to test how fast it goes but I just have to force myself not to as this isnt a PC.

What comes to snappyness, Theres still this odd lag when you open the menus but once it switches to 800mhz state everything is just faster. Best way to test was with browser, it rendered maemo.org in a record time!
