In which case, from X Terminal, run:
Code:
dpkg -l mp-fremantle-203-pr
and make sure it has "ii" as the start to show it's installed. If not, run:
Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get install mp-fremantle-203-pr

Guys, i need some help!

I still have 42.11... and my rootfs is showing 83% use (37.6M available)...why? I didn't use anything from extras-devel, just extras-testing and extras....plus they are all small apps..a few mb maximum... I still could update to 44-1 OTA..and then to 51-1...but i need to free rootfs first...but how ?

Disable extras/develop repositories and refresh. For more information check: this areas FAQ.

indeed the issue.
is it ok to remove the debs from /var/cache/apt/archives ?
thats taking up a lot of space ?

If you're sort of space, try disabling the -devel and -testing repositories temporarily. The FAQ for this section should also detail some other ways to free up space on the rootfs.

the moving of /var/cache/apt to /home did help .

So finally im downloading the mp-fremantle-203-pr now. but im wondering how did this ever get uninstalled if it existed in the the first place ?
good to know so me and other dont repeat the accident again.

The only way I've heard of this getting uninstalled is if you install some of the -devel apps using apt-get or dpkg.

the mp-fremantle-203-pr seems to have changed my app manager.
But the firmware still reports 42-11. Ive tried doing an update in the app-manager , but no sign of 44-11.

any clue ?

restart helped , now my firmware shows 44-1-203.4 thanks guys for the support.
now ill wait patiently for the PR1.1 update to appear, seems like there is a thread active with this topic.
