Hi guy. I would like install or do a kind or reflash using any virtual machine. in that way would be possible test any kind of app withou brick my real cellphone.

does any1 could provide a step-by-step instruction to accomplish that?

VMware can only virtualize the same CPU architecture. The N900 does not use a x86 based CPU, so you can not virtualize the N900's operating system. Sorry!

I suppose you could try installing the SDK and then installing the apps in there.

I believe someone setup the SDK for one of the PC virtualization products (VMware, VirtualBox, MS Virtual PC) and made the image available, but I forgot which product (it probably doesn't matter anyways, they likely all read each other's virtual disk formats) and unfortunately don't know where it is hosted. I installed the SDK the "hard way" following the original Nokia instructions quite a long time ago, so I never paid too much attention to it.

A quick Google search should've pointed you guys to this:

VMWare image directly downloadable from there. Just get VMWare Player to run the VMs.

A little offtopic..but is this possible on a n900?

Certainly should be. I don't know of any open-source software that will do it just yet, and VMWare hasn't moved to release what they used on the N800.

i would love to have this on my n900! seems like vmware have stopped working on this?
