what does "good 3G connection" mean?
convenient broadcasting via qik requires a hsupa connection...normal umts provides not enough upload speed

Try "Settings" -> "Min delay" instead "Max. quality" by default. To access settings tap viewfinder to switch qik in window mode and tap window's title.
sad to say it sucked.....this was a feature I was hoping for.
maybe it will only work over Wi-Fi / WLan, have none to test
Will the N900 be the loooooooong awaited replacement for my old N95 1st Gen ?
